Hi all, Weekly yin yang yoga session will be in room 400:249 on Wednesday 22/04 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. Please make sure you aim to arrive at least 10 minutes early and grab a ticket, the spaces are limited and we have had a lot of interest this semester. If you don't think you will be able to attend after you have a ticket, please email me and let me know. This will allow me to cancel the ticket and someone else to come along. This is a mindfulness practice and is all about letting go of the stress of uni life for a little while. You will be guided through a restorative practice, beginning with breathing exercise to help you feel into the body and ground down. Then we move through a series of positions (asana) designed to warm, open and activate the fascial system. We will then spend some time in longer hold positions that are created to open and release specific joint capsules and their connective tissues. Finishing with a meditative shavasana (corpse pose, the final resting position), this allows you to let go of any tension in the mind and body. So when you leave you will be fresh and reset, ready to take on any challenge uni life has to throw at you. Please be sure that you are fit and healthy, yoga is still a physical activity and is by no means a treatment for any illness. If you have any concerns please consult your GP and let the instructor know. If this is your first session please print, read and sign the waiver, then bring it with. Hi all, This is our final weekly yin yang yoga session of the semester. It will be combined with our AGM. The AGM is required to keep the club running and we must get enough Curtin Student members to attend or the club will no-longer be allowed to operate. Therefore we are offering free 2026 memberships to every current curtin student member who attends. This weeks class will be in room 502A in the southern end of campus on Wednesday 01/10 from 12:30 pm to 1:30 pm. Hi all, It is time for our annual general meeting. We will be running the meeting in place of our usual yoga session in room 400:249 on Wednesday the 8/10 between 12:30 and 1:30. Everyone is welcome, there is limited space in the room (~72) and we will have a drop in style area for those who would like to have their say but can't stick around. We are currently looking for new commitee members to fill the roles of treasurer, Secretary, Vice President & yoga teacher. Please get in contact if you are interested in any of the roles above, you will be required to be a student at curtin during the time of holding a position as a commitee member. If you are a yoga teacher and would like to run some of the sessions, in particular the Wednesday sessions through first semester 2026. As part of my course I am required to do work placement every week at the time of the current sessions. You will need proof of certification, current insurance and working with children check (if you need help obtaining any of these please let me know and I will gladly help).  Special thanks goes out to the lovely Amy Pang our current secretary, she has been an absolute blessing in the creation and running of the club and we wouldn't have been able to make it this far without her. Although she is happy to help with online duties, she will be in the Kalgoorlie campus as part of course requirements.  I would also like to thank Alicia (AKA Jingwen Zhang) our current treasurer.
